Frosted — Privacy Policy
What Frosted reads
Frosted reads the visible text content of posts in your LinkedIn feed while the extension is enabled. It does this by reading the innerText of post elements rendered on your screen — the same text you can read yourself.
Frosted does not read:
- Your LinkedIn profile information
- Private messages or notifications
- Posts outside the feed (articles, company pages, search results)
- Any data from non-LinkedIn pages
Where processing happens
Entirely on your device.
- Pattern detection: Runs synchronously in the browser tab. No network request is made.
- AI classification: When Gemini Nano (Chrome's built-in model) is available on your hardware, borderline posts are classified locally. If Gemini Nano is unavailable, borderline posts are classified by pattern score alone — no download occurs and no network request is made.
Frosted itself makes no network requests and transmits no data. AI classification uses Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano model, which runs on-device. Gemini Nano's internal behavior is governed by Google's privacy practices for Chrome's built-in AI features.
What is stored locally
Frosted stores the following in chrome.storage.local (your browser's extension storage, private to your device):

Frosted does not store:
- Author names, profile URLs, or account identifiers
- Your browsing history or session data outside the feed
Frosted stores up to 500 characters of post text in your local browser storage only when you explicitly click a feedback button. This data never leaves your device, is capped at 200 entries, and can be viewed, exported, or cleared at any time from the side panel.
What is never collected
- No analytics
- No telemetry
- No crash reports
- No usage metrics
- No third-party SDKs in the extension
